As Chancellor Ethan Heicher says, "Each of those completions represents a new opportunity for a student ... and their personal achievement creates a stronger and more resilient community that each of us live in, works in and enjoys."

Ivy Tech Community College will host a community expungement and resource fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Kokomo Campus at 1815 E. Morgan St. The program is designed to help community members and students learn more about clearing eligible criminal records and remove barriers that may affect employment, housing, education and other opportunities.

In Indiana, the process of expungement seals certain criminal records from public view, but eligibility and waiting periods depend on the offense type and severity. Those filing for expungement must have no pending criminal charges; must have paid all court costs, fines, fees, and restitution; and must meet all relevant waiting periods.
