While our hearts are incredibly sad, we’re more inspired than ever to continue the important mission Dolly created through Imagination Library❤️

Dolly began the program in her home county in 1995 to inspire children to love reading, honoring her father, who was unable to read or write.

In 2017, we began partnering with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to help give children in Howard & Tipton Counties the best start in life. Today, more than 2,500 local children under the age of 5 receive a new book in their mailbox every month—all because Dolly had a vision and we're fortunate enough to help carry it forward.

Thank you, Dolly, for believing in the power of a book and the possibilities it can create. We will always love you, and we will continue working to honor your incredible legacy. đź’•đź“š

From Stellantis Family Days and the Blue Devil Bash to the Tipton County Laundry Lift and more, we’re grateful for every opportunity to connect with our neighbors, community partners, and local organizations. Look for us at DSI’s Community in Bloom event this Wednesday 5-7pm! We hope to see you there🌻

From Buddy Bags and Imagination Library to Free Tax Preparation, Mission United, Information & Referral, and community grants, our team works every day to help our neighbors thrive.

Today, we’re celebrating the incredible potential of young people in our community—and the importance of making sure every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

At United Way of Howard & Tipton Counties, we’re proud to support local youth through programs like Buddy Bags and Imagination Library:

🎒 Buddy Bags provides weekend food to elementary students who may otherwise face food insecurity, helping ensure kids have nutritious meals even when they’re away from school.

đź“š Imagination Library provides free, age-appropriate books each month to children under age 5, helping build early literacy skills and a lifelong love of reading.

Every child deserves the resources they need to reach their full potential. Together, we can invest in our youth and build a stronger community for generations to come đź’™
