We recently had the privilege to celebrate not 1 but 2 major Birthdays for some of our amazing people. Both David and Carolyn turned 90 this year and continue to be an amazing asset to The Salvation Army of Kokomo. Carolyn plays the piano in our church services every Sunday and David mows the grass at our buildings every week. We are so thankful for these amazing people and wish them a year of health and happiness.

Our office and Food Pantry will be closed Friday June 19 in observation of the Juneteenth holiday. We will be back open normal hours on Tuesday June 23.

A huge thanks to the Howard County Health Department for providing this much needed service to our community this summer.

Join us at any of these sites on Wednesday, 6/3 in Kokomo or Thursday, 6/4 in Russiaville for your free lunch and a bag of student-friendly food to take home. We'll be back each week throughout the summer!

We were grateful to be able to attend The United Way of Howard and Tipton Counties campaign celebration today. We are so grateful to live in a community that serves and supports its neighbors. We work and collaborate with the United Way regularly to meet the needs of those in our community. We can’t do it alone to help those in need in our community and we are thankful to work together with like minded organizations to serve this wonderful community.

We would like to say a HUGE thanks to the mail carriers who picked up donations and all who donated to the letter carriers food drive today. The food will go to pantry’s in Kokomo that are in great need of food to fill their shelves - including the Food Pantry at the Salvation Army of Kokomo.

We are a recipient of some of the food from this food drive. Thank you to everybody who will donate. And thank you to the letter carriers for all that they do in putting this on each and every year. 

On Saturday, May 9th make a simple act of kindness that can make a big impact. Join the nationwide Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive by leaving non-perishable food donations by your mailbox for your letter carrier to pick up.

Every can, box, and bag helps stock local food pantries and supports families facing food insecurity right here in our community. Together, we can help ensure neighbors have access to the food they need.

The Salvation Army Indiana Division has received a $3,000,000 matching grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. through its Capital Project Initiative for Residential Youth Camps. The Salvation Army has launched the Transforming Lives Initiative to raise the $3,000,000 needed to receive the full matching grant.
