This Saturday is the day! All donations to the Meijer Simply Give program will be doubled. Our food pantry is a a recipient of this program and relies heavily on these funds to help us stock the shelves. If you happen to be out and about shopping tomorrow, please consider grabbing a $10 card at the register when you check out. It will be doubled and it will be a huge help to us.

The Salvation Army of Kokomo and Howard County has been chosen as a recipient of the Meijer Simply Give program. This program is a HUGE help to our Food pantry to purchase food for the food pantry. Our food pantry helps between 200 and 300 families a month. If you are out shopping at Meijer please consider grabbing a simply give card at checkout to support our pantry. See more information on the flyer attached. There are match days where your monies can go even further. Thank you so much to Meijer for supporting us in this way and thanks to all who donate.

For the first time Walmart and Sams Club are allowing us to bell ring for Christmas in July. This comes at a time when our pantry shelves our empty and monies from Christmas fundraising are dwindling. If you can help please call, email or message our page. Thank you so much to Walmart and Sams Club for allowing us to do this. Need knows no season!

The weather this week has reminded us it’s summer! Another staple of Summer is the 4th of July. Our office and food pantry will be closed Friday July 3rd in observance of the Holiday. We hope everyone has a safe and cool holiday.

It may only be June but before we know it the kids will be heading back to school. Walmart has partnered with the Salvation Army nationally to help kids start the school year off right with the Stuff the Bus event. Since we do not a back to school program we are supporting our friends over at the Kokomo Rescue Mission who are doing their Back to School assistance giveaway on July 8 &9. We will be at the Kokomo Walmart this Friday June 26 from 12pm to 4pm collecting items for the Rescue Missions giveaway or regular school supplies to donate to local schools. A huge thanks to Walmart for supporting our community in this way. Hope to see you Friday!

We recently had the privilege to celebrate not 1 but 2 major Birthdays for some of our amazing people. Both David and Carolyn turned 90 this year and continue to be an amazing asset to The Salvation Army of Kokomo. Carolyn plays the piano in our church services every Sunday and David mows the grass at our buildings every week. We are so thankful for these amazing people and wish them a year of health and happiness.
