🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸K-9 Colby got to spend some time visiting the residents of the Attala County Veterans Home this week.

These men and women have given so much to our country, and it was truly an honor for K-9 Colby to bring a few smiles, wagging tails, and companionship to those who have sacrificed to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day.

The bond between our veterans and our K-9s is something special. Colby loved meeting everyone, receiving plenty of attention, and making memories with some of the heroes who have served our nation.

From all of us at the Attala County Sheriff’s Office, thank you to EVERY veteran for your service, your sacrifice, and your dedication to our country. We are forever grateful for the freedoms you helped protect.

To the individuals stealing phone lines, internet lines, copper wiring, and other property throughout Attala County: YOUR TIME IS RUNNING OUT.

What you are doing is not a harmless act of theft. You are disrupting essential services, leaving citizens without internet and communications, preventing people who work from home—especially those in rural areas—from doing their jobs, and creating unnecessary inconvenience and serious safety concerns for our community.

And let’s make one thing perfectly clear:

IT’S NOT YOURS.

You may think you’re getting away with it. You may think nobody is watching. YOU ARE WRONG.

The Attala County Sheriff’s Department will continue working to identify those responsible, and when you are caught, you WILL be held accountable and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The Attala County Sheriff’s Office is proud to recognize K-9 Deputy Cobi Edwards and K-9 Colby for successfully graduating the K-9 Training Academy.

Over the course of the program, Edwards and K-9 Colby completed extensive training that required dedication, discipline, and teamwork. The curriculum included obedience, tracking, evidence recovery, narcotics detection, building and area searches and vehicle searches.

The Attala County Sheriff’s Office congratulates K-9 Deputy Cobi Edwards and K-9 Colby on this outstanding achievement and looks forward to the positive impact they will continue to make while serving our community.

Congratulations on a job well done, and best wishes for a safe and successful career as our new certified K-9 team.
