⚠️ HARDIN COUNTY WEATHER ALERT ⚠️
🌧️ Heavy Rainfall & Flash Flooding Risk Through Sunday Night 🌧️

The forecast continues to trend toward excessive rainfall across Southeast Texas, including Hardin County, through the Memorial Day weekend. The National Weather Service indicates repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms may lead to localized flooding, flooded roadways, and dangerous travel conditions.

📌 What You Need to Know:
• Multiple rounds of rain are expected through Sunday night and possibly into Memorial Day.
• Forecast rainfall totals of 4–8 inches are possible, with isolated higher amounts over 10 inches.
• The Weather Prediction Center continues to place our area under Marginal to Slight Risks for excessive rainfall and flash flooding through the weekend.
• High rainfall rates may quickly overwhelm drainage systems and create hazardous roadway conditions.
• Outdoor plans and Memorial Day activities should include a weather safety plan and frequent forecast checks.

⚠️ Forecast Uncertainty Matters
From forecaster experience, these weather patterns often produce multiple waves of heavy rain that are difficult to pinpoint more than 12–18 hours in advance. Because of this, officials stress the “Reasonably Highest Rainfall Amounts” forecasts — meaning there is a 10% chance rainfall totals could exceed current projections.

🚗 Flood Safety Reminder:
• NEVER drive through flooded roadways.
• Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
• Be especially cautious at night when water depth is difficult to see.
