🚨 FLASH FLOOD WARNING – LIFE-THREATENING FLOODING OCCURRING 🚨

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Hardin County, Central Jasper County, and Tyler County until 12:30 PM CDT today, Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

⚠️ FLASH FLOODING IS ALREADY OCCURRING.

Reports of flooding have been received from Hardin and Tyler Counties. Between 5 and 20 inches of rain have fallen in portions of the warned area. Additional rainfall of 1 to 5 inches is possible, with rainfall rates of 1 to 4 inches per hour.

🔴 HAZARD: Life-threatening flash flooding from thunderstorms.

📡 SOURCE: Radar indicated, with reports of flooding received.

⚠️ IMPACTS: Life-threatening flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and other locations with poor drainage.

Communities within the warning include Lumberton, Silsbee, Woodville, Kountze, Sour Lake, Colmesneil, Chester, Wildwood, Warren, Fred, Thicket, Saratoga, Town Bluff, Village Mills, Honey Island, Caney Head, Spurger, Votaw, and Batson.

🚧 DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED ROADWAYS. Water covering a roadway may be deeper or moving faster than it appears, and the roadway underneath may be damaged or washed out.

TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN!

Please remain weather aware, avoid unnecessary travel in flooded areas, and never drive around barricades or enter areas where water is covering the roadway.

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Hardin County, along with portions of northwestern Jefferson County and southwestern Tyler County, until 8:45 AM CDT today, Wednesday, September 2.

⚠️ THIS IS A SERIOUS FLOODING SITUATION.

As of 4:46 AM, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms continuing to produce heavy rainfall across the warned area. Between 5 and 10 inches of rain have fallen in the past few hours, and flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD: Life-threatening flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACTS: Significant flooding may occur along creeks and streams, in low-lying and poor-drainage areas, and across highways, streets, and underpasses.

Locations that may experience flash flooding include Lumberton, Silsbee, Woodville, Kountze, Sour Lake, Colmesneil, Nome, Chester, Wildwood, Warren, Saratoga, Thicket, Village Mills, Honey Island, Batson, Ivanhoe, and Hillister.

⛈️ WHAT WE’RE SEEING:

Thunderstorms are producing very heavy rainfall across the warned area.
1–3 inches of rain have already fallen.
Rainfall rates of 2–6.5 inches per hour are possible.
An additional 2–4 inches of rainfall may occur.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

📍 Locations that may experience flash flooding include:
Kountze, Honey Island, and Village Mills, along with surrounding areas of Central Hardin County.

⚠️ IMPACTS: Rapid flooding may affect small creeks and streams, highways, streets, underpasses, low-water crossings, poor drainage areas, and other low-lying locations.
