Heads up, Denton County!

Another round of storms is possible this afternoon and evening, mainly between 4–9 PM. A few storms could become severe, bringing large hail and damaging winds.

It will also be hot ahead of the storms, with highs near 90° and heat index values up to 97°. Cooler temperatures are expected behind a cold front tonight into Wednesday.

Quick preparedness tips:
• Turn on emergency alerts and charge your devices
• Bring in or secure loose outdoor items
• Park vehicles in covered areas if possible (hail risk)
• Identify your safe place (interior room, lowest floor)
• Keep a flashlight and shoes nearby in case of power outages
