Weisenberg Volunteer Fire Department

Weisenberg Volunteer Fire Department Founded in 2006, we provide emergency services to Weisenberg Township and the surrounding community.

Our team of over 30 volunteer firefighters provides fire protection, responds to vehicle accidents, and assists area emergency medical crews on critical calls. We train every Monday night at 6:30pm and have a monthly administration meeting every 1st Monday of the month at 7:00pm. For controlled burns, call Lehigh County Communications at 610-437-5252.

This past week, our members responded to 7 calls: one automatic fire alarm, one outside fire, one motor vehicle accident, one dwelling fire, one police assist, and two medical assists.

This past Sunday, crews gathered with members from the Northwestern Regional Fire Departments to train on skills essential for the fireground. Training included hose line advancement, forcible entry, Denver drills, and navigating a maze. These exercises help members better understand and prepare for the challenges they may encounter on emergency scenes.

This past week, our members responded to 2 calls: one automatic fire alarm and one brush fire.

The past week, crews were invited this past week to participate in a Touch-a-Truck event hosted by a local church organization. The event gave children the chance to meet firefighters, explore the apparatus, and learn more about what we do and why we do it. They were able to look over the trucks, check out different tools, and ask questions about the fire service. We appreciate the opportunity to connect with the community and share our work with the next generation.

This past week, our members responded to 7 calls: one automatic fire alarm, one structure fire, one vehicle fire, two motor vehicle accidents, and two standbys.

This past week, crews took some time to sharpen their aerial operation skills through ladder placement challenges. Operators were tasked with placing a traffic cone either directly on top of another cone or onto a designated target using the aerial device. While it may look simple from the ground, factors such as wind, distance, visibility, and limited line of sight make these evolutions extremely challenging. Training like this helps build the precision, coordination, and control needed for real-world operations.

Yesterday marked the beginning of National EMS Week here in the United States, a time dedicated to recognizing and honoring the emergency medical personnel who provide lifesaving care to communities across the country each and every day.

EMTs, Paramedics, EMDs, and other EMS providers face unpredictable and often high-stress situations while remaining committed to protecting the health and safety of others. Whether responding to medical emergencies, accidents, disasters, or critical incidents, EMS personnel continue to demonstrate courage, compassion, professionalism, and dedication in the line of duty.

National EMS Week is more than just recognition, it is a time to acknowledge the sacrifices made by EMS providers and their families, including those who have lost their lives while serving their communities. Their commitment to helping others during moments of crisis deserves our continued respect and appreciation.

To all EMS providers, thank you for answering the call when your communities need you most.

With all of the recent curiosity about the red clover near our station, our department photographer thought it would be great to take a picture of our recently detailed Engine Tanker in this beautiful setting. Thank you to the property owner for your permission and thank you to Brian Wagner for your expert photography skills!
