Hays CISD Transportation Department held their annual employee appreciation luncheon and I was fortunate enough to be invited.

One of the events was a “Dunk-A-Cop” booth. Yes, I was one of the brave folks sitting in the hot seat. All the staff seemed to enjoy this activity. But honestly, I enjoyed each time I was dunked as it provided relief from this heat wave that just doesn’t want to go away.

It was an honor to be asked to participate and mingle with all these folks and show our appreciation for their service and dedication in transporting our children not only during the upcoming school year, but for all the years past as well.

When arriving at the Hays County PCT 2 annex you will notice reserved parking spots for our office have been covered. This is done to allow more parking for those who will be voting at the precinct.

The last few years have been challenging for all of us where many uncertainties have changed our lives. All of us have been effected by the pandemic and some have lost loved ones, but one thing remains the same, we are all in this together. When I was elected Constable, I had a vision to serve and give back to the community. In the past there were several events which I and my office participated in, but Covid struck and everything was placed on hold. I think it’s time to move forward and start giving back to our community. To get things started, I have partnered with Fuentes Elementary to have a reading incentive program.

Students that successfully participate in the program will have their name entered into a drawing where one girl and one boy will be selected and they will be rewarded with a new bicycle.

Today marks one year since the passing of Deputy Manuel Philipe DeLaRosa. Not a day goes by that your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed or appreciated. You my friend touched the life’s of so many people that you encountered. Sadly your life was cut short and it hurt us all, but rest assured, you will never be forgotten. Continue to rest easy, we got it from here.

To Manny’s family, he is truly missed here at the Hays County PCT 2 office and the pain still lingers in our heart.

Manny we love you and l have said it before “this world needs more Manny’s in it”. Play on playa

Our office is currently experiencing issues with our main phone number. If you call it, you will receive a message that "all circuits are busy". We are working with the counties IT Office and the provider trying to resolve this issue.

I was contacted to see if our office could coordinate a parade and wish Lily a happy birthday. Glad we were able to provide this service along with the Hays County Sheriffs Office and Hays County Constable PCT 1. Happy birthday Lily.
