On Saturday, April 27, the Kyle Area Youth Advisory Council (KAYAC) took part in an Adopt a Park cleanup at Lake Kyle Park, picking up litter and helping maintain our beautiful community green spaces.

But we have more community projects right around the corner! Join us at the upcoming May Market Days - Asian American and Pacific Islander Month Celebration on Saturday, May 11 starting at 8 AM. Our booth will offer attendees an opportunity to paint rocks that will be laid along city trails. We will also be collecting donations for the Forever 15 Project , a nonprofit that spreads awareness and provides resources for preventing fentanyl poisoning.

The Kyle Area Youth Advisory Council (KAYAC) participated in a team-building event at Uncharted Adventures on Sunday, April 14th. The council divided into two teams, led by Councilmembers Parsley and Heiser as captains. Both teams simultaneously participated in escape room challenges to determine which could escape the quickest. While we won’t say which team made it out first, we can confirm that all participants enjoyed an engaging and valuable team-building experience.

On March 20, 2024, the Kyle Area Youth Advisory Council convened for their monthly meeting. The agenda included their standard business proceedings, alongside discussions on team-building and social activities, capstone project specifics, and a presentation from the Forever 15 Project.

As our students kick off a new year at school, we kick off another year of Kyle Area Youth Advisory Council! We are inviting any high school students in the Kyle Area (Hays, Johnson, Lehman, Live Oak, etc.) that are interested in the workings of local government and community service to apply to become a member of our council here:
