The Kyle Fire Department is now accepting applications for Firefighter/EMT-B positions!
Our 1/3/2/3 schedule was designed to provide a better balance between the demands of the job and life outside of it, because firefighters perform at their best when they have time to rest, recover, and spend time with the people who matter most.

If you're looking for an opportunity to serve a growing community while working alongside a dedicated team, we encourage you to apply.

Applications close July 20. Apply today at kylefire.com/job-openings.

Chief Taylor and Chief Rolon recently returned from the Texas Panhandle after being deployed with Strike Team 165 All Hazards supporting wildfire operations.
Their team played a key role in the Kress Fire, assisting with structural protection, fire attack, mop-up, tactical patrol, and command support alongside personnel from across Texas.

In addition to their deployment, KFD firefighters were also deployed on strike teams supporting wildfire response efforts across the Panhandle. As always, we’re proud of our personnel serving communities across Texas wherever they’re needed most.

On this International Firefighters’ Day, we recognize the faces behind the fire service. Those who came before us and built what this job is today. Those who serve right now. And those who will come after us and carry it forward.
From all of us at Kyle Fire Department, we’re proud to be part of that tradition.

Behind the scenes of everything we do is a team making sure the details are handled, the paperwork is in order, and the department stays on track. This Administrative Professionals Day, we’re recognizing the people who keep this place running.
Ms. Ali, Ms. Menard, and Ms. Wolf are the ones keeping things organized and moving forward. They keep us in line, keep things on track, and, one of our favorite parts, make sure everyone gets paid on time. Their work is a constant part of our day-to-day operations and supports every part of what we do.

We appreciate everything they do for this department, today and every day!

You may see or hear an emergency alert today between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM. This is part of a statewide test coordinated by TDEM and is not a real emergency.
No action is needed. These tests help ensure alerting systems are working as intended so we can quickly notify the public when it matters most.

If you’re not already signed up for local alerts, now is a good time to do so through Warn Central Texas.

Public Notice. Statewide Emergency Alert Test

The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) will conduct a coordinated, statewide test of all local alerting systems on Thursday, April 2, 2026 between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM.

This is ONLY A TEST and NOT a real emergency. No action is required.

During this testing window, residents may receive a test emergency alert through local warning systems, including wireless emergency alerts and other public notification tools.

Prepared communities are safer communities. We appreciate your patience as emergency partners across Texas participate in this statewide readiness drill.

Residents are encouraged to sign up for local emergency alerts through Warn Central Texas: https://warncentraltexas.org/

More information about this test can be found at https://kyletxnews.com/dont-be-alarmed-emergency-alert-test-scheduled-for-april-2/

This week, all three shifts completed hands-on hazmat refresher training focused on chlorine response. While many people know us for responding to fires and medical calls, incidents involving hazardous materials are also part of what we train for and respond to. These situations require a different level of preparation, equipment, and coordination to keep both our crews and the public safe.
Crews worked to identify chlorine hazards, using the chlorine A-kit, and operated in Level A/B suits. The training also reinforced decontamination procedures, hazmat rapid intervention team operations, and the critical roles of command and safety on these incidents.
This type of training ensures our personnel are ready for the calls you may never see, but that we’re always prepared to handle.
