Thank you to all the help that showed up today for our structure fires. All the area departments who worked seamlessly and tirelessly to overcome the challenge that faced us is greatly appreciated. 🚑 Calling All Baraga County Seniors! 🚒

Join us for Camp 911 for Seniors on Thursday, July 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Baraga Township Building. This free, interactive event will provide valuable information on emergency preparedness, hands-only CPR, fall prevention, scams and personal safety, fire safety, Project Lifesaver, K-9 demonstrations, and much more.

First run in our new dress uniforms at the Copper County Tournament in Laurium yesterday hosted by Calumet Township Fire Department. The new dress uniforms were purchased with funds generated from our Duck Races held at the Baraga County Lake Trout Festival over the past few years. We appreciate everyone's support and thank you so much for participating each and every year.

Where to begin. Thank you, thank you and thank you for all those that helped, attended, donated and participated in making the Baraga County Lake Trout Festival June 13,2026 a huge success! Even with the constant wind, shortened fishing tournament hosted by the Baraga County Next Gen Team, we all came together to provide a fun filled family day in our beautiful community! Big thank you to our Village of L'Anse employees for all of your hard work leading up to, during and after the festival! To all of our sponsors who donated, patrons, community members, area businesses including the KBIC fish hatchery who donated fish and a ton of smiles for the kids who brought home dinner. To our members of the L'Anse Fire Department that went above and beyond making sure our events went off as smoothly as possible by working hard and preparing for the last year, it surely didn't go unnoticed.

Here is a list of our duck race winners for the adult race. This is a huge fundraiser that helps us purchase much needed supplies and equipment for our fire department. Thank you to all of those participants as well!

The festival Saturday will go on as planned rain or shine!

Pre Fishing Tournament tomorrow is CANCELLED due to a small craft advisory.

BCMH’s main sponsorship payouts will be added to the tournament payouts on Saturday expanding the big fish payouts to more places.

The captains meeting tomorrow will still be held at 6 pm at Meadowbrook arena. We are still hopeful to fish this Saturday and are watching the weather closely. Our protocol with a small craft depending on when it starts is to shorten the fishing time Saturday OR push to Sunday.

Thank you all for your understanding. Safety is always first, if you are planning to fish tomorrow, please use caution.

ATTN: RUNNERS. We haven't forgotten about you! This year, this event is a FREE family fun run 5k. No need to sign up ahead of time, just come down to the waterfront in L’Anse the morning of 6/13/26. All levels of ability are encouraged to join us as this is not a timed race. Walk, jog, run, we are just here to have fun. Kids are welcome to ride bikes alongside an accompanying adult. Join us in kicking off the start of the Lake Trout Festival being active! Race starts at 8:00 am!

Get your duck tickets! 🐤🐥🐤 A ton of prizes this year to give away! Handcrafted Cedar Picnic Tables and benches built by our firefighters just to name a few! Ask your favorite L'Anse Fire Department member for tickets today! $10 each! With the proceeds, we are able to help purchase new or used equipment that we use to help the community! 🚒🚒🚨🚒🚒. The kids race will have a bunch of prizes this year as well! Those tickets are free and can be signed up for the day of the Baraga County Lake Trout Festival June 13, 2026! Sign up at our big Rescue Trailer Friday night at Meadowbrook or Saturday by the waterfront park on Front Street! See you there!
