23 years ago on this day marks a tragic day for our country. We will never forget the 343 firefighter lives lost who bravely fought to save the lives of others despite the danger they knew that they were heading into. We will also never forget all the other lives lost of other service members and civilians.

UPCOMING BURN BAN: A modified burn ban for all residential and land clearing fires in unincorporated Skagit County will go into effect at 8:00 a.m. on June 15, 2024, and continue until further notice. Skagit County will no longer issue permits for these activities and existing permits are suspended.

Recreational and cooking fires will remain allowed, limited to 3 feet in diameter and 2 feet high, when safety precautions are followed. Please see the fire marshal's website below for more guidance.

All outdoor burning, including recreational and cooking fires, shall be prohibited in the event of the following: a “Red Flag Warning” issued by the National Weather Service and a “Stage 1 or Stage 2 Air Quality Burn Ban” issued by the Northwest Clean Air Agency.
