Time is flying by, ! Community Preparedness Day is almost here. This year's theme is "Rain and Flooding Awareness." ☔️
Join us on September 10, at 6 p.m., at Olberz Park (One Civic Center Drive) for a fun, knowledge-packed evening dedicated to keeping our neighborhood safe, strong and ready for any emergency.
Here is a sneak peek at what’s waiting for you:
🚒 Get up close with real fire trucks, search-and-rescue gear, LASD vehicles and meet the Mounted Enforcement Detail equestrian unit!
🎨 Visit the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge's booth for family-friendly preparedness activities, free coloring books and small preparedness kits.
🌿 Join CORE from 7-7:30 p.m. for an interactive plant game using real samples to learn about native fire-resistant plants, flood preparedness and home hardening.
Plus, connect directly with other participating organizations, including Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Los Angeles County Fire Department, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Highway Patrol, U.S. Forest Service, San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments, Los Angeles County Office of Emergency Management, Crescenta Valley Water District, L.C.U.S.D. Governing Board, American Red Cross, Los Angeles County Public Works, Greater Los Angeles County Vector Control District, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital Foundation, Southern California Edison (SCE), the La Cañada Irrigation District and various city booths.
