On Monday, Sept 20th, the City's Redistricting Committee will review the county's plan and discuss city district and ward boundaries. Redistricting involves determining districts (boundaries that set who represents you on city council) and wards (voting locations within districts). The 3rd Council Planning meeting of 2021 will be held on Tuesday, 9/7/21. We will be discussing the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding for La Crosse. The last Council Planning meeting was in June. It was general orientation to City Council. Council Planning meetings occur 4x each year. They are informational only, meaning we don't take a vote on any particular issue. Learn more about the September Council Planning meeting below.

The Council Planning meeting will be open for in-person attendance (masks encouraged) and through video

In an effort to become self-sustaining and accelerate property improvements, the City of La Crosse Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department recommends implementing a trailhead parking permit to collect fees from users that are parking at trailhead facilities. Learn more and give YOUR input at the S. Side Community Center on August 10th. Learn more below.

Hi District 10! The State Road/Jackson Street project described below is beginning BUT there are three stages. The section between 16th and Losey is scheduled for the last stage, which begins on Sept 3rd. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by Oct 22nd. We are excited to be hosting another Juneteenth Celebration! This year we will be co-hosting with other community leaders Black Student Leaders, Enduring Families Project, Hope Restores, UWL's Black Student Unity, and UWL Diversity & Inclusion!

This event is FREE to the public! We will have many interactive activities and live entertainment with special surprises throughout the day! So come ready to learn about different historical facts about Juneteenth and the Black community!

Reminder: Large Item Collection is this month!
There will only be ONE collection day per tax parcel, between May 17th-28th, on your regular recycling day. Large items are to be placed at your normal refuse & recycling collection point. Items not placed in the refuse & recycling area, will not be collected. Mattresses and box springs will be recycled. Please place them away from the other large items at your collection point and cover if rain is in the forecast.

Collection is for residential tax parcels and is limited to 5 items and their counterparts (a table and chairs is considered 1 item) at each parcel. Items shall not be set out more than 12 hours before collection and the property owner is responsible for removal of extra items placed out once pickup is complete for the season. Items cannot weigh more than 300 lbs. Electronics and appliances are not allowed to be placed for collection. For questions on specific items, please call Harter's Quick Clean-Up at 608-782-2082.
