Do your elected officials represent everyone they serve?

The framers of the Constitution envisioned representatives who would advance the interests of their entire district, state, or nation. Today, many citizens worry that partisan pressures have made that goal more difficult to achieve.

This video examines the vital role of representation in our democracy and asks an important question: Who do our elected officials work for—their party, or all of the people they were elected to serve?

Teens spend far less time with friends than they did 20 years ago. A new study on school phone bans suggests the biggest benefit may be rebuilding social connections, not raising test scores.

When politicians draw voting maps to protect their own power, voters lose confidence that elections are truly fair. Partisan redistricting and gerrymandering can dilute voices, deepen division, and weaken representative democracy. It’s time for a renewed conversation about transparency, accountability, and fair representation in the redistricting process—that put Country above party.

How much do social media algorithms shape what we believe?

My latest ethical leadership column explores how today’s media environment may reinforce political divisions by feeding us more of what we already agree with. The result can be narrower perspectives, greater polarization, and less understanding across differences.

The good news? We can take steps to broaden our viewpoints and become more intentional about the information we consume.

I hope you’ll take a moment to read and reflect on this important issue facing our democracy and communities.
