🚛 ITS NOT TOO LATE!!!!! It’s that magical time of year again, when couches migrate to curbs, flattened mattresses get out of your spare bedroom and mystery garage items finally see the light of day ONE LAST TIME!

City-Wide Clean Up Day is here!
If it’s broken, busted, dusty, rusty, or you’ve been “meaning to get rid of it” since 2007… now’s your chance!!!

🕕 Have items to the curb by 6:00 AM so our crews can grab it unless your neighbor claims your “vintage” recliner, just to find out why it was being thrown out!

Let’s clean things up and make the town look so fresh even the raccoons get confused. 🦝✨

Community events don’t just happen — they’re built by dedicated volunteers who care about their town.

From early Park Boards that helped shape and maintain the La Cygne Community Park and Pool, to Fiesta Committees and Chamber-led festivals like Swan Fest, one thing has always remained the same: it takes community members stepping up to make it all happen!

That’s exactly what we’re looking for! NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED!

The City of La Cygne is forming a “Blast in the Park Board” and we’re looking for volunteers to help plan, organize, and execute this growing community event.

This is a city-funded event, and the board will work alongside City liaisons — but the heart of it will be local volunteers bringing ideas, energy, and pride into the process.

We’re looking for individuals who:
• Are in good standing within the community
• Demonstrate strong moral and ethical character
• Want to give back and be part of something meaningful

If you’ve ever enjoyed a local event and thought, “I’d love to be part of that,” or "Man, if they had {THIS} that would be great!" this is your opportunity!

Help us continue the tradition of community-driven events and make Blast in the Park something special for numerous years to come.

🎆 Blast in the Park is almost here! 🎆

Mark your calendars for July 11th, 2026 from 6PM–9PM at La Cygne Community Park and get ready for a night of fun, music, and celebration!

We’ve got it all:
🎆 Fireworks
🍔 MORE Food trucks than before!
🛍️ Fantastic Vendors
🎶 Live music
⛳️And fun games!

And bringing the energy this year is Bo and The Beards — a Kansas City-based band that truly keeps you guessing. Acoustic, electric, covers, originals… it’s like hitting shuffle on your Spotify playlist. You never quite know what’s coming next, but one thing’s guaranteed — it’s going to be a great time!

This is a FREE event (donations are always appreciated), so grab your friends, bring the family, and come celebrate Independence Day and community with us!!

The demolition of 602 E. Market St., most recently known as the “Wagon Wheel Steakhouse & Lounge,” has officially begun.

Since its construction in 1972, this red iron building has been a familiar landmark in our community—serving as a home for multiple businesses over the years and creating countless memories along the way. Its adaptable structure made it a true blank canvas, allowing it to evolve with the needs of the community.

While it’s never easy to see a long-standing piece of local history come down, this marks the beginning of a new chapter for the property and for La Cygne. We look forward to what the future holds for this location.

Thank you to everyone who made memories at the Wagon Wheel and the businesses that came before it.

🚚🍔 New Mobile Food Unit Ordinance🚚🍔
The City of La Cygne has officially rolled out a Mobile Food Unit Ordinance, and not to limit or make operation harder, but to make things safer, clearer, and more business-friendly 👍

Here’s the real scoop!
✅ Food Safety Comes First
We’re making sure every vendor is following proper health standards—so your treats are not only delicious, but safe too.

📋 Clear Expectations for Vendors
No guessing games. From permits to operating hours, everything is laid out so vendors know exactly how to succeed here.

💵 Low Cost, Business-Friendly
We kept fees minimal and flexible (daily or monthly) to encourage more vendors to set up shop and serve the community.

🕒 Simple Operating Rules
Operate between 6 AM–10 PM, keep things clean, don’t block traffic, and (sorry folks) no alcohol sales.

🧼 Clean-Up is a Must
“Leave it better than you found it” isn’t just a saying—it’s part of the rules.

🚫 A Few Common-Sense Limits
No setting up on the highway, no obstructing sidewalks, and yes… the permit needs to be visible!

At the end of the day, this ordinance is about supporting small business while giving new and exciting options, while protecting the public. We want to see more food trucks, more variety, and more reasons for the community to gather—just done the right way!

So whether you’re a vendor or a hungry customer… good things are cooking in La Cygne 🔥
