Our roads have enough problems, lets not add to them!
While it may not seem like a big deal, throwing grass onto the roadway can create real hazards by:

🚲 Reducing traction for motorcycles, bicycles, and even vehicles.

♿ Making it more difficult for residents using wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility devices to travel safely.

🏡 Simply making our community look less cared for.

When mowing your yard, please keep clippings on your property, bag them, compost them, or dispose of them properly. It's a simple step that helps keep our streets safe, clean, and looking the best they can! (City Ord. 7-203)

🏡From Empty Lots to Front Porch Lights! 🏡

Did you know that since 2022, 6 new homes have been built or brought into La Cygne? For some communities, that might be just another Tuesday. For La Cygne? That's growth worth celebrating. What were once vacant lots are becoming front porches, backyard barbecues, kids riding bikes, and neighbors waving across the street. That's not just development—it's community.

And we're not finished yet. With several SOLD open lots available and development interest growing, we could see 5 more homes coming soon!

🌱 Empty lots are turning into opportunities.
🏗️ Opportunities are turning into homes.
🏘️ Homes are turning into a stronger La Cygne.

We've also invested in the infrastructure needed for growth:

🚛 ITS NOT TOO LATE!!!!! It’s that magical time of year again, when couches migrate to curbs, flattened mattresses get out of your spare bedroom and mystery garage items finally see the light of day ONE LAST TIME!

City-Wide Clean Up Day is here!
If it’s broken, busted, dusty, rusty, or you’ve been “meaning to get rid of it” since 2007… now’s your chance!!!

🕕 Have items to the curb by 6:00 AM so our crews can grab it unless your neighbor claims your “vintage” recliner, just to find out why it was being thrown out!

Let’s clean things up and make the town look so fresh even the raccoons get confused. 🦝✨

Community events don’t just happen — they’re built by dedicated volunteers who care about their town.

From early Park Boards that helped shape and maintain the La Cygne Community Park and Pool, to Fiesta Committees and Chamber-led festivals like Swan Fest, one thing has always remained the same: it takes community members stepping up to make it all happen!

That’s exactly what we’re looking for! NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED!

The City of La Cygne is forming a “Blast in the Park Board” and we’re looking for volunteers to help plan, organize, and execute this growing community event.

This is a city-funded event, and the board will work alongside City liaisons — but the heart of it will be local volunteers bringing ideas, energy, and pride into the process.

We’re looking for individuals who:
• Are in good standing within the community
• Demonstrate strong moral and ethical character
• Want to give back and be part of something meaningful

If you’ve ever enjoyed a local event and thought, “I’d love to be part of that,” or "Man, if they had {THIS} that would be great!" this is your opportunity!

Help us continue the tradition of community-driven events and make Blast in the Park something special for numerous years to come.
