When an ATV accident occurred on Oak Grove Lane late this morning, requiring LifeStar transport for a seriously injured rider in rough terrain, the LaFollette Rescue Squad and Ridgewood Volunteer Fire Department were on the scene . Our crews demonstrated incredible teamwork, expertly navigating the challenging conditions to ensure a safe extrication and a smooth transition for the rider to the landing zone. We're proud of their dedication and appreciate the strong collaboration we consistently share with our fellow first responder departments.

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the entire LaFollette Rescue Squad family shares our deepest condolences with Caryville Fire Department’s Chief Eddie Hatmaker and his family on the passing of his beloved wife, Bertha . We are truly heartbroken by this immense loss.
Bertha was more than just the Chief's wife; she was a cherished part of our extended fire department family and of Campbell county as a committed member of the health department. Many of us will remember her for Bright personality and ability to make any day brighter. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
During this incredibly difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with Chief Hatmaker, their children, grandchildren, and all of their loved ones. Please know that the entire LaFollette Rescue Squad stands ready to offer any support, comfort, or assistance that you may need. We are a family, and we grieve together.
