WALLOWA VALLEY CENTER FOR WELLNESS RECEIVES WILDHORSE FOUNDATION GRANT FOR GREENHOUSE AND GARDEN PROJECT

ENTERPRISE – (Press release from the Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness) Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness has received a $12,000 grant from the Wildhorse Foundation to support construction of a greenhouse and garden shed at the Wallowa Valley Wellness Park and Community Garden.

The project will expand opportunities for extended season gardening, community programming, and outdoor wellness activities for Wallowa County residents. The greenhouse and garden shed are part of the organization’s broader effort to create accessible spaces that support mental wellness, healthy living, and community connection.

“We are deeply grateful to the Wildhorse Foundation for investing in the health and well-being of our community,” said Chantay Jett, CEO of Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness. “The Wellness Park and Community Garden is about more than gardening. It is about creating a place where people can connect with one another, access healthy activities, and experience the healing benefits of community, nature, and shared purpose.”

Each year, the Wildhorse Foundation awards grants to nonprofit, government, and Tribal organizations serving communities throughout the region. Since 2001, the Foundation has awarded more than $20 million in grant funding.

Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness is a nonprofit organization serving Wallowa County through behavioral health services, recovery support, prevention programs, housing support, and community wellness initiatives.

About the Wildhorse Foundation: The fund reflects the commitment of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation to take a proactive, positive role in the well-being of the community. Funds, derived from a percentage of revenues from Wildhorse Resort & Casino, are managed and distributed by a Board of Directors comprised of community leaders and representatives of the CTUIR.
