Here is a great reminder of fireworks and 9-1-1. Let's all take La Grande Police Department's advice and plan ahead for the loud noises and pets that are affected.

If you have pets, please plan ahead. Keep your pets inside, provide a quiet, safe space, divert their attention and attempt to drown out the loud noises. With City of La Grande Fire Department

Today, we’re honoring the dads, grandpas, and father figures who are the bedrock of our families and our community.

To our Fire Dads who answer the call at a moment's notice, your strength and dedication does not go unnoticed.

Whether you’re teaching the next generation about safety, coaching a local team, or just mastering the backyard grill, thank you for being the heroes your kids look up to every day.

We hope your day is low on emergencies and high on relaxation!

Happy Father’s Day! 🛠️🔥

As we enter, what Fire Officials expect to be a very active wildfire season, we encourage you to stay up to date on changing conditions, regulations and requirements.

Together, we can work to lessen the number of human caused wildfire starts. These unnecessary fires often lead to tragic loss and devastation.

Throughout the upcoming wildfire season, we will have important updates on this page. Stay tuned!

The La Grande Fire Department family has officially grown by two feet! We are absolutely thrilled to announce the arrival of our newest recruit, born to the Wattenburg family.

While this little one might be a bit too small for official turnouts and a helmet just yet, they’ve already been suited up in a temporary outfit for the time being.

Huge congratulations to the Wattenburg family! We are so happy for you and can't wait to watch your new little one grow.

On Saturday May 16th, 2026 at 8:59pm our agency was dispatched to a structure fire at 210 18th St. in La Grande.

Crews arrived to find an outbuilding at the residence fully engulfed in fire with partial collapse. A rapid fire attack was initiated and the fire was quickly extinguished. Unfortunately, due the building construction and initial burn time before discovery, the outbuilding and contents were a complete loss. The main residence received radiant heat damage to a portion of the exterior siding, but was otherwise undamaged by the fire.

We are happy to report, there were no injuries or loss of life involved in this incident. At this time, the specific fire cause remains undetermined.

A total of 13 fire personnel were involved in this incident. We would like to extend our gratitude to our partners at La Grande Rural Fire Protection District for providing us assistance with an Engine and a crew of 6.

Today, we’re trading our helmets for hats off to all the incredible moms in our community!

Whether you’re a Fire Mom supporting your firefighter from home, a First Responder Mom balancing the radio and the diaper bag, or a La Grande Mom keeping our town running strong, we see your hard work, your heart, and your bravery.

To the women who teach us how to be tough, how to be kind, and how to stay safe: Thank you.

We hope your day is filled with love, relaxation, and absolutely zero "false alarms."

Stay safe, stay celebrated, and enjoy your special day! ❤️🔥
