Happy Earth Day! The Union Co Master Gardeners are joining a statewide OSU project called Garden Future. It's gathering observations from people all over the state about how your gardens are changing. Climate change is already transforming the way we garden. From shifting growing seasons to unpredictable weather, Oregon gardeners are seeing these changes firsthand. Help us by sharing what you've seen (let's represent, Union County!).
Specifically:
- Are you noticing changes in your garden that you believe are connected to climate change?
- What changes have you made in your gardening practices because of climate change?
- What resources do you need to better adapt your garden to a changing climate?
You can submit your answers online (beav.es/gardenfuture) or meet us at an upcoming event! If you answer the questions, you get a free garden future poster (Union County online answerers, send an email to sarah.west(at)oregonstate.edu to claim yours!).
We'll be at the Earth Day Cleanup event in Cove on April 26 with resources for adapting your garden to warmer, drier conditions, as well as info on supporting pollinators with your plant choices--and more! See the last image for all the event details, and be sure to rsvp!
