🚧 Better Together: Streets & Roads Edition 🚧

What should the future of La Grande’s streets and roads look like?

Today, City staff will be available at the La Grande Farmers Market to answer questions, listen to ideas, and continue the conversation about our community’s transportation infrastructure needs.

We will also be hosting two Community Roundtable: Streets & Roads Edition sessions at the Cook Memorial Library:

🕙 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
🕒 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Whether you support a gas tax, prefer another funding solution, have concerns, questions, or simply want to learn more, we want to hear from you. This is not about telling you what to think—it’s about working together to understand the challenges, explore options, and help shape the path forward.

Doing nothing is also a choice, but it’s important that we understand the consequences of every option before making decisions that will impact our community for years to come.

Can’t make it? Leave a comment below, send me an email, or stop by the City information booth at the Farmers Market.

Streets and Roads

🚧 What should the future of La Grande’s streets and roads look like?

Our streets are aging, costs continue to rise, and doing nothing is a decision too. Before any future funding measure is considered, we want to hear from you.

What do you want the city to do?
* A local gas tax?
* A street utility fee?
* VIP purchase options?
* Something else entirely?
* Is there a better solution we haven’t considered?

Join us for a Community Roundtable – Streets & Roads Edition on Saturday, June 13 at the Cook Memorial Library Community Room:

🕙 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
OR
🕒 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Can’t attend? Share your thoughts in the comments below or email me directly at [email protected].

The goal is not to tell the community what the answer is. The goal is to work together to identify the best path forward for La Grande.

What would you do if you were designing the solution?

Another Community Question – Better Together

What are your city revenue generating ideas?

Additional Context:
As many of you know, the City continues working through long-term financial challenges while looking for ways to protect services, maintain infrastructure, and invest in La Grande’s future.

One idea that has been suggested is holding a Community Roundtable: Revenue Generation Brainstorming Edition—an opportunity for residents, business owners, and community partners to share ideas for generating new revenue that is practical, low-impact, and community supported.

Would you attend?

If so:
📅 What day of the week works best for you?
🕔 What time would you be most likely to attend?
💡 What revenue-generating ideas would you like discussed?

No decisions. No presentations. Just a conversation focused on gathering ideas and hearing from the community.

Share your thoughts in the comments or email me at [email protected].

La Grande City Council Meeting 6/03/26

06/03/2026

🚧 Potholes don’t usually RSVP, but you can.

Join us this Friday from 5:30–7:30 PM at Le Bebe Cakes Bakery for our Community Roundtable: Streets and Roads Edition.

If you’ve ever said:
👉 “That bump wasn’t there yesterday.”
👉 “I know every pothole in town by name.”
👉 “My suspension and I would like to file a complaint.”

…then this conversation is for you.

Come share your ideas, ask questions, and help shape potential future ballot measures focused on improving our streets and roads.

Can’t make it Friday? We’ll also be at the Farmers Market on Saturday continuing the conversation.

Let’s work on smoother roads and a stronger community. Better Together!
