Thank you to the American Legion Post 1941, the Community Park District, President Jim Discipio, and all those who helped coordinate the event or attended. And most importantly, thank you to those who gave their lives in service to our country.

Protect what you value most...Although Village code requires fire sprinklers in all new homes, consider installing fire sprinklers in your existing home, especially during substantial remodeling.

May 14, 1991 - Dramatic FDNY rope rescue 35 years ago yesterday. This had live television coverage with FF Kevin Shea (pictured) & FF Patrick Barr being lowered from the rooftop to save 2 people on opposite sides of the building. (Billy Bingoo Denis)

It's a fact, due to materials used in today's furnishings, fires burn quicker and hotter than ever. This has reduced the time occupants have to escape, and increased the dangerous byproducts of combustion found in smoke.
