Board Votes to Shoulder Expenses of
One Part of Failed Bond Package
In the aftermath of Saturday's failed $90 million bond election, La Grange ISD wasted no time in dealing with one of the bond's most pressing needs, and will pay for it with maintenance tax note funds.
At Monday night's specially called meeting, the School Board accepted a bid for much-needed repair and replacement to the high school 100-wing bathrooms and sewer line for an amount not to exceed $515,500. That work will be done this summer.

Election Day is fast approaching. If you haven't already voted, please get to the polls on Saturday and cast your ballot. So many men and women have sacrificed so much to allow us to live in a free country where your voice can be heard. Honor their sacrifice and get out there and vote! Every vote counts!

Attention:

It has come to our attention that some voters think they have to live in the La Grange city limits to be able to vote in the bond election. This is not true. The LGISD covers a large part of the county. If you pay property taxes to the La Grange School District you can vote in the bond election. If you are unsure of this, contact the elections office and they will tell you if you are eligible to vote in this election (979 968-6563).

Early voting runs through Tuesday, April 28th at the county elections office located at 275 Ellinger Rd. Voting will also take place at the elections office on Saturday, April 25th from 7:00 to 7:00 and on Sunday, April 26th from 10:00 to 4:00.

Election day is Saturday, May 2nd at La Grange city hall.

If the $90,000,000 school bond passes, the amount owed by the LGISD taxpayers will be over $200,000,000. This figure includes principal and interest and current outstanding debt.

Early voting starts Monday, April 20th thru April 28th at the County Elections Office at 275 Ellinger Rd. (no voting on Tuesday, April 21st due to San Jacinto Holiday). Election day is Saturday, May 2nd at La Grange city hall.
