This is the Archaeology Field School going on this week at Winnrose Farm in Oldham County. In a partnership with Oldham County Middle School, students study life in Antebellum Oldham County. This site was the home of Moses and Cynthia Duncan who had 5 children and 15 enslaved laborers on the farm. We then will take a field trip to Abraham Lincoln’s boyhood home in Indiana where they have a living history farm so students can imagine life in Oldham County during that same period. We then will visit Cahokia National Mounds to see the largest Native American settlement in Mesoamerica. We do this because of that culture that included similar mounds found along the Ohio River and our county. How lucky we have these beautiful undisturbed green land in Oldham County for our students to study!!
