Today marks two years since we lost Sergeant Christian Smith, and his absence is still felt throughout our department.

Christian was a respected firefighter, trusted leader, founding member of Rescue 33, and loyal friend whose compassion, dedication, and positive spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Today, we also keep his wife, Katie, and his kids, Tyler, Grant, and Connor, in our thoughts. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the example he set, and the memories we continue to share.

We invite everyone to take a moment today to reflect on Christian’s life and honor his memory.

Sergeant Christian Smith will never be forgotten and will always remain a part of the AMFEMS family.

🔥 LFRD Visits Buckner Bear Care Day Camp🔥

Buckner Bear Care Spray‑Down was a blast today — nearly 100 kids ages 5–11 showed up ready to run, laugh, and get absolutely soaked. The crew turned the day care and parking lot into a full‑on splash zone, and the kids brought the energy. Community moments like this are what summer’s all about. 💙🚒

Oldham County Public Library Spray-A-Thon

🔥 LaGrange Fire & Rescue turned the Oldham County Public Library into the coolest spot in town!

Today’s Spray‑A‑Thon was full throttle — hoses blasting, kids sprinting through spray arcs, and nonstop summer energy. Our crew brought the rigs, the water, and the fun, giving families an up‑close look at the people who protect this community every day.

Huge shoutout to OCPL for hosting and to every kid who showed up ready to get soaked. This is what community looks like — loud, laughing, learning, and leaving absolutely drenched.

🔥 LaGrange Fire & Rescue at LaGrange Elementary Summer Camp! 🔥

Today our crews had the privilege of spending the day with about 60 awesome students at LaGrange Elementary’s Summer Camp — and they brought the energy. From hands‑on demonstrations to fire safety lessons, these kids were locked in, asking smart questions, and showing exactly why community education matters.

LaGrange Fire & Rescue is proud to be a department that doesn’t just respond to emergencies — we invest in our community, build trust with our youngest residents, and make safety something kids want to learn about.

Huge thank‑you to LaGrange Elementary for inviting us, and an even bigger thank‑you to the campers who made the day unforgettable. This is what community partnership looks like — and LaGrange Fire & Rescue is honored to lead the way.
