Today’s State Fire School Spotlight features Class #114 – Junior Firefighter.
We are again pleased to present a class tailored specifically to junior firefighters! We hope you can join us for a weekend of education and networking with fellow junior firefighters from across the state. Build your skills with plenty of hands-on training, including Junior Firefighter Program Guideline-approved Live Fire opportunity! This course is designed to teach the students team building, communication and leadership while honing the skills necessary to operate in today's fire service.
Participants will be physically challenged at times and should be prepared to perform hands-on skills in full PPE. This class is open to junior firefighters ages 15-17 who are part of a departmental junior program recognized by the Kentucky Fire Commission.
Lead Instructor Scott Landram is an adjunct instructor with SFRT District 5 and also serves as Deputy Chief with Nelson County Fire. He tailors his training to benefit the juniors with a mix of fun and hands-on learning to promote and enjoy classes, and likes to help them become the best they can be in the fire service.
