e who may just happen to be passing through. We operate under the leadership of Chief Josh Vandever, our EMS Director. Josh is a licensed paramedic and started his career with the county in 2010. Dr. Mark Ackrell is our departmental Medical Director, he also works as an emergency room physician at Saint David’s Medical Center. Our team reports to the Fayette County Judge, Joe Weber, along with the rest of the commissioner's court. It is important that we also note that our success is largely supported by our area fire departments and Fayette County EMS's First Responder Organization. Join us in lifting up our friends at El Campo EMS and Calhoun County EMS in prayer.

Daniel was a wonderful young man and a great public servant.

God bless all of his family and friends in this most difficult time.

The City of El Campo is deeply saddened to share the passing of El Campo EMS team member, Daniel Cuellar.

Though Daniel was new to our EMS service, he was eager to make a difference and serve the residents of our community. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

We’re so thankful that our brother’s and sister’s next door survived this crash. Our prayers are with the EMS professionals involved in the crash and with Lee County EMS as they work to not only support an injured loved one, but also as they figure out how to replace this truck.

Just to educate everyone on the incident that took place Monday night. We had a unit returning back to Lee County from transporting a patient. They were traveling through Bastrop County when the driver had a medical emergency, causing the ambulance to exit the highway and strike a tree. The paramedic passenger was able to contact another one of our ambulances, that was just a few miles ahead of them. That ambulance responded to the scene and arrived in minutes all while the passenger started patient care on her partner. 911 was called and Rodney was contacted, who responded and arrived quickly. All 4 paramedics started patient care on the paramedic driver prior to anyone else arriving. Our driver had to be extricated, and both crew members were transported to Austin by Lee County EMS service. They will both be ok. The passenger was released early the next morning but driver's recovery will be more extensive. We are blessed and grateful that no lives were lost and no other people were involved. We are resilient; our EMS family always pulls together in times like these and we will continue patient care as usual. Thanks go out to Bastrop County Fire and Acadian for their help with this incident. Prayers are appreciated for everybody involved.

Fayette County EMS Director Josh Vandever was honored to have been invited by the Governor’s office to attend the ceremonial signing of HB 3000 out of the 89th Texas Legislature, today.

Chief Vandever was joined by EMS colleagues from around the state as well as Lamb County Judge Mike DeLoach, Senator Perry, Representative King, and Chairman VanDeaver.

A lot of time and effort went into moving this legislation forward and rural Texas stands to realize a massive benefit from its success. A heartfelt thank you to all who were involved.

We were proud to support Flatonia ISD today as they hosted training for everyone in the district, 6th grade and up, on important life-saving skills.

We taught kids how to properly apply tourniquets, perform chest compressions, save someone who is choking, and how to help someone having an allergic reaction.

We applaud the school district for investing this time in helping these kids and young adults be their own first responders if necessary.

Chief Vandever, Asst. Chief Daniels, Captain Watkins, Paramedic Schwartz and EMT Fritz all assisted with the training!

The Texas Emergency Medical Task Force (EMTF) is still engaged, serving their fellow Texans. God bless all of the Fire/EMS, USAR and Law Enforcement teams still in the area.

Our prayers remain with the all of the local first responders and city/county officials that are still engaged in rebuilding their communities.
