Unfortunately, we've had to close the Lower Springs Basketball Court while staff remove painted phone numbers, food smashed into the playing surface, skid marks, overall trash, and recent disorderly conduct. We are deeply sorry to those who respect this wonderful space and ask for your patience as we get it back up to par.

As a reminder, all City Parks, including this space, the Skate Park, all Parks, and the Community Center, follow guidelines requiring an adult to accompany all individuals under 18.

Ozone season in Kentucky begins May 1 and runs through September 30. Outdoor burning restrictions are in place under Kentucky Regulation 401 KAR 63:005. During this time, open burning is restricted to help reduce air pollution and protect public health. Open burning of materials such as leaves, brush, and household waste is prohibited, as it contributes to ozone formation, especially during warmer months.

These restrictions are in place to improve air quality and reduce health risks, particularly for children, older adults, and those with respiratory conditions.

Some burns are permitted during the burn ban. If you decide to burn, contact Oldham County Dispatch at 502-222-0111 to provide your address to prevent false fire calls. Oldham County Dispatch cannot permit permission for burning. By calling, this is simply a notification to emergency services.

It was a great day for City Clean Up 2026! We didn’t let the rain scare us! We filled six dumpsters and took three loads of scrap metal for recycling. We collected a lot of tires but not as many bikes this year. Thanks to Mayor John Black for the cool hot dog trailer again this year and thanks to Council Member Trey Kamer and Tourism Director Donna Sabo for helping us out! Thank you La Grange Utilities for letting us use your lot again this year and Republic Services for supplying us with dumpsters. Huge shout out to Big O Tire - La Grange for supporting our event again this year by recycling the tires for us. This event would not be possible without all the workers and all the volunteers!
