Village offices will be closed on Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th. Please note that there is no scheduled Board of Trustees meeting on the holiday.

Due to the holiday, refuse and recycling service will be delayed by one day for the entire week. The normal refuse and recycling service schedule will resume Monday, September 14th.

Online services, including water bill payment, purchasing parking decals, requesting a vacation house check and more, will continue to be accessible via the Village website: https://www.lagrangeil.gov/OnlineResources

September is firefighter appreciation month and we’re taking the time to recognize the firefighters who serve La Grange when our community needs it most.

From emergency calls and fires to medical emergencies, public safety support and community education, firefighters play an important role in keeping our neighbors safe. Their work often happens under challenging circumstances, and their commitment extends well beyond the moments when we see them responding to a call.

The Community & Economic Development Commission will hold a special meeting on Thursday, September 3rd at 7:00 p.m. at Village Hall (53 S. La Grange Rd).

This commission plays an important role in reviewing development proposals, supporting local businesses, and helping guide thoughtful growth in the community. Meetings are open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend to stay informed and engaged.

At the recent Board Meeting, the Village of La Grange recognized Sunday, September 13, 2026, as Race Unity Day - a day to celebrate the diversity, history and community that make La Grange such a special place to call home.

The proclamation recognizes the work of the CommUNITY Diversity Group of La Grange, IL which advocates for diversity, equity and inclusion in civic, cultural and government life and works to ensure everyone in our community has an opportunity to be represented and heard.

The 35th Annual Race Unity Rally will take place on Sunday, September 13th at 3:00 p.m. as part of Diversity Days in La Grange.

We hope you’ll join your neighbors in celebrating our community, reflecting on our shared history and recognizing the many different experiences and perspectives that help make La Grange stronger.

Looking for the best parking space in town? Look no further than the parking garage!

When you’re visiting downtown La Grange for shopping, dining, appointments or other activities, the Village Hall parking garage offers convenient parking just steps from the Central Business District.

Located behind Village Hall at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Harris Avenue, the three-story garage provides a large amount of parking with easy access to downtown businesses. Enter the parking garage from either 6th Avenue or Harris Avenue. Please note that the Harris Avenue entrance is closed Thursday mornings when the Farmer's Market is in season.

Park once, then enjoy everything downtown La Grange has to offer.

Parking Improvements Are Coming to Downtown La Grange!

You may notice some changes to parking around downtown La Grange in the coming weeks as the Village begins implementing recommendations from its 2022 parking study.

The goal is simple: make parking easier to understand and make better use of the Village’s 1,200+ off-street parking spaces.

As part of this effort, new parking signs will be installed throughout the West End and Central Business District. A few things to know:
• Village parking lots: Generally limited to 3 hours
• Parking garage: Limited to 4 hours
• Enforcement: Parking time limits will now be enforced until 8 p.m. instead of 6 p.m.
• North of LTHS Lot 13: Available for customer parking after 11 a.m.
• New online parking portal: Coming soon with interactive maps, permit information and an improved purchasing process

This is just the beginning of a larger effort to make parking in La Grange easier to navigate. You may see a little “refresh” as signs are replaced, so pardon our dust!
