Red Flag Warning Extended Through Saturday in the City of La Habra Heights
The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the Los Angeles and Orange County Area, including La Habra Heights, through Saturday, December 9 at 8:00 pm.

The Fire Weather Watch is due to low humidity of about 5% with poor overnight recovery, combined with strong, gusty winds. Northeast winds are predicted at 20-35 mph with gusts up to 60 MPH along the coastal slopes. Isolated gusts up to 90 mph likely late tonight through Thursday in the remote canyon and foothill locations.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are expected. A combination of gusty winds and low relative
humidity can contribute to extreme fire behavior. Use extreme
caution when using potential fire ignition sources.

* Call 9-1-1 immediately if you see smoke or flames.
* Don’t drive vehicles in the dry brush.
* Do not use power equipment or metal bladed tools during brush clearance
* Do not use fireworks (which are illegal already in Laguna Beach).
* Do not smoke or discard any hot or burning objects
If you see something or someone suspicious call 911, we want to know.

Please plan on attending if you can.

To the entire La Habra Heights community, and also anyone else who would like to join us to honor our fallen firefighters who gave their lives to protect our city, please save the date of Saturday January 7th at 11am at City Hall. We will be dedicating a memorial to the 6 firefighters who perished fighting the "Hacienda Fire". Relatives of those we lost, as well as firemen from many surrounding departments, and the City Council will be on hand to honor these brave individuals and dedicate this beautiful memorial.

This is an important event for the city and we would like to see as many people from the community and surrounding areas attend. Immediately after the dedication there will be an open house for the La Habra Heights Fire Department . You'll be able to tour the fire department facility and meet the LHH firefighters who do a great job protecting the city.

Sincerely hope to see you there.

Lunch will be served by the Fire Department as well so you may want to call ahead and let them know you're coming.

Thanks again.

Heights Watch members along with the LHH Community, there has been an uptick in home burglaries in the La Habra Heights area. Watching out for your neighbors is key here and if you see something say something. The last time we had a small string of burglaries the case was solved by an observant neighbor reporting an unusual group of persons in the neighborhood which allowed the police to stop and question the perpetrators and ultimately arrest them. The Sheriff station number is 626-330-3322. The Sheriff station encourages you to report suspicious behavior. La Habra Heights is a very safe community. Lets work to keep it that way.
