In addition to responding to calls for service regarding strays, animal bites, dog licensing issues, barking complaints, and leash law violations, animal control officers play a lead role in the enforcement of anti-cruelty regulations, investigating reports of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. They also facilitate getting veterinary care for injured animals and every effort is made to promptly reunite lost pets with their owners. In fact, it is our policy to check all domesticated animals for a license and/or an identifying implanted chip, prior to them being taken to the shelter. Inland Valley Humane Society
