π£βΎCELEBRATING OUR SCHOOLS: La Joya High School Graduate Makes School History with All-State Baseball Honors
La Joya High School graduate Matt Ortiz has made school history after earning a spot on the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association (THSBCA) Elite All-State Baseball Team and being selected to participate in the THSBCA All-State All-Star Game.
According to La Joya ISD, Ortiz is the first baseball player in La Joya High School history to receive an invitation to the prestigious All-State All-Star Game, marking a significant milestone for the school's baseball program.
District officials praised Ortiz for his hard work, dedication, and leadership both on and off the field. His accomplishments have earned him statewide recognition and cemented his place in school history.
A member of the Class of 2026, Ortiz will continue his academic and athletic journey at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he is expected to further develop his baseball career.
