The La Junta Police Department is looking for a missing Juvenile female, Prisceyiss Urban, 16 years old, last seen wearing a yellow crop-top shirt, grey sweat pants, and a black zip up jacket. Prisceyiss is described as 5'02", 100 lbs with blonde/orangish hair. Prisceyiss was last seen heading west on E 22nd St towards the Otero College from the La Junta High School. PRESS RELEASE | HIGHWAY 350 TWO-VEHICLE COLLISION

The La Junta Police Department is releasing information regarding a two-vehicle collision on Highway 350 near West 6th Street that resulted in five individuals being transported for medical treatment and the arrest of two individuals.

All charges are allegations. Both individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

UPDATE: Robert has been located.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. this morning, officers responded to a report of a male walking along Highway 350. The individual’s clothing matched the description of the missing person from last night’s alert.

Officers made contact with the individual and confirmed his identity. As a precaution, emergency medical personnel transported him to the hospital for evaluation. His family has been notified.

We would like to thank everyone who shared our previous post and assisted in helping us locate him safely.

Be on the lookout for Robert Sigala, 52. Robert was last seen at his home, 618 Carson Ave, La Junta, CO 81050, around 2100 on 07/22/2026. Robert was upset and left his home walking north on Carson. Robert was last seen wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt, either white, grey, or tan in color. Robert is 6'01 218 lbs, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Robert also wears wire-frame glasses and has facial hair. Robert is Bipolar and possibly autistic. It is unknown where he could be, but he is believed to be in the La Junta area. If found, please contact and advise the La Junta Police Department at 719-384-2525, option #1.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On April 30, 2026, at approximately 8:18 a.m., officers with the La Junta Police Department responded to a report of criminal mischief within the City of La Junta.

Following an investigation, officers developed probable cause to arrest Valerie Alvarez, a Detention Deputy with the Otero County Sheriff’s Office, for Criminal Mischief, C.R.S. 18-4-501. The investigation further determined that the offense qualified for a Domestic Violence designation pursuant to C.R.S. 18-6-800.3 due to the relationship between the involved parties.

On July 13, 2026, Alvarez was arrested and transported to the Otero County Jail, where she was booked on the above charge.

The case has been submitted to the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

All persons accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

La Junta Police Department Arrests Two Following Vehicle Pursuit and Major Narcotics Seizure

La Junta, Colorado – On Thursday, July 9, 2026, at approximately 3:26 p.m., officers with the La Junta Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black 2009 Lexus near the intersection of 10th Street and San Juan Avenue.

The vehicle initially came to a stop but then fled, leading officers on a pursuit through the City of La Junta, onto U.S. Highway 50, North La Junta, back through the City of La Junta, and ultimately onto Highway 350.

During the pursuit, the vehicle's occupants threw multiple packages from the vehicle. Officers recovered and seized those packages as evidence. Speeds during the pursuit reached approximately 120 miles per hour.

Near Mile Marker 1 on Highway 350, Assisting Officers successfully deployed tire deflation devices ("stop sticks"). The driver turned the vehicle around and drove directly toward pursuing officers, narrowly avoiding a collision with patrol vehicles. The vehicle continued a short distance before coming to a stop on Highway 350 in Las Animas County.

The driver, David Bailey (DOB: February 13, 1987), and passenger, Angelica Muniz (DOB: October 23, 1995), were taken into custody without further incident.

During the investigation, officers recovered approximately 386 grams of suspected methamphetamine and more than 5 grams of suspected fentanyl.

David Bailey was transported to the Otero County Jail and booked on the following charges:
Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine – C.R.S. 18-18-405 (Drug Felony 1)
Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl – C.R.S. 18-18-405 (Drug Felony 2)
Vehicular Eluding – C.R.S. 18-9-116.5 (Class 5 Felony)
Tampering with Physical Evidence – C.R.S. 18-8-610 (Class 6 Felony)
Reckless Driving – C.R.S. 42-4-1401 (Class 2 Misdemeanor Traffic Offense)
Reckless Endangerment – C.R.S. 18-3-208 (Class 2 Misdemeanor)
Two counts of Violation of a Protection Order – C.R.S. 18-6-803.5 (Class 1 Misdemeanor)

At the time of his arrest, Bailey was on parole for a previous conviction of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance under C.R.S. 18-18-405.

Angelica Muniz was transported to the Otero County Jail and booked on the following charges:
Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine – C.R.S. 18-18-405 (Drug Felony 1)
Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl – C.R.S. 18-18-405 (Drug Felony 2)
Two counts of Tampering with Physical Evidence – C.R.S. 18-8-610 (Class 6 Felony)
Two counts of Violation of a Protection Order – C.R.S. 18-6-803.5 (Class 1 Misdemeanor)

The La Junta Police Department would like to thank the Colorado State Patrol, Otero County Sheriff's Office, Las Animas County Sheriff's Office, and the Trinidad Police Department for their assistance during this incident. Their coordinated response and teamwork were instrumental in safely bringing the pursuit to a successful conclusion.

All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

The dog was located in the 200 block of Belleview Ave. He was picked up by officers and taken to the La Junta Municipal Animal Shelter.
