This is Pedro - He insists on coming back and visiting every year. He has 13 rattles (times that he has shed his skin) We are all looking forward to the time that he retires to the mountains.

It has been a great summer. Much wetter than normal but still in a drought condition. The pecan farmers continue to pump the underground aquifers with abandon and it has dropped the water table by many feet - that fact, I'm afraid, will cause this area to change significantly - at least as it relates to the wildlife that depend on surface water to live.
