On September 2-4, between midnight (12 a.m.) and 5:30 a.m., the Orange County Mosquito & Vector Control District (OCMVCD) will conduct an Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) adulticide treatment to address mosquito abundance and the risk of mosquito-borne disease in the cities of La Palma, Buena Park and Cypress. The application will occur in an area in the general vicinity of Lincoln Avenue and Walker Street (see accompanying map).

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory and extreme heat warning for this week. The City of La Palma will operate a cooling center at the La Palma Community Center during these days:

Monday, August 24 — 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, August 25 — 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, August 26 — 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, August 27 — 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Stay cool, stay hydrated and avoid prolonged sun exposure.
