Another great day of RT130 Recertification and training with Crescent Rural Fire Protection District, Central Cascades Fire and EMS, Chemult Fire & EMS and Oregon State Fire Marshal

After class time and discussion, we practiced Fire Shelter Deployment, using Foam to extinguish and then a quick run over the rigs we all had with us.

Thanks again to everyone!

Today starts a process of change and improvements!

The Alderwood Property owned by OORFPD and the Sunforest Road District is coming to life!

OORFPD is having a shed built there today for storage of supplies/gear.
OORFPD is also in communication with the county to submit plans in order to get power and water on the lot.
Our goal is to have another Fire and Meeting hall built on the property to be used by both organizations as needed.

Why you ask?!
By having the ability to store more trucks full of water in our neighborhood, we are drastically cutting down response time to any emergencies in the neighborhood AND raising our ISO rating.

Raising our ISO rating means lower home owners insurance for residents!

Meetings can be held in the neighborhood, at the facility. We will not have to drive out Beal fighting weather and bad roads, nor inconvenience volunteers offering their homes for a convenient meeting place.

This is all a work in progress that we are very excited about and hope to see more interest for both organizations when things start moving forward and progressing!

Here’s to new opportunities and ideas!
