🔥Fire Prevention Week 2026🔥

This morning, LCFPD Firefighters met with the students of the La Plata Elementary School to discuss the importance of fire safety. While we were there, students got the chance to check out Engine 703 and see some of the tools we use everyday!

We would like to thank the Gary Cunningham Event Center and our community for their generosity and support year after year!

La Plata Community Fire Protection District is the BEST Volunteer Fire Department around! That's why we are so happy to report that we were able to donate $872 from our ice cream & pie sales during the Laplata Soybean Festival.

Thanks to all who enjoyed the delicious treats and contributed to this effort. Special thanks as well to Don Miller for his continuing support!

At last nights training, firefighters refreshed their skills using ladders on an empty structure in La Plata. First and foremost, we would like to thank the property owners for allowing us to use the structure for our training. Firefighters were able to learn new skills and refresh old ones in ladder placement, firefighter safety, victim rescue, and ventilation operations. We’re always training to provide the best possible services to our citizens, neighbors, and visitors.

The LCFPD is excited to receive the order of the districts first electric extrication tool. This TNT Rescue Systems, Inc. Combi Tool will benefit the district for many years to come! At tonight’s training, your LCFPD Firefighters were able to use the tool in various situations and become familiar with the new technology.

At the LCFPD, we are committed to providing the most up to date equipment for our volunteers. Ensuring that the best possible care can be provided to our citizens, neighbors, and visitors.

The LCFPD would like to thank Tyler Davis with Northeast Fire Apparatus and Equipment and Jon's Mid America Fire Apparatus for the assistance in this purchase.
