Friends For La Plata Preservation "Honoring La Plata's Heritage" FLPP is currently refurbishing the Green Theatre.

Green Theatre Cultural Center Mission Statement: To restore and preserve the Green theatre, circa 1936, for the purpose of creating a Cultural Center, thus preserving a part of our past to serve the people i our surrounding area. The uses of the building will be to promote education, entertainment, films, public forums, private gatherings, and working with local schools, churches, businesses and organizations. This building will be part of the Historical District within the City of La Plata.

Imagine you're at the store in our little corner of paradise of northeast/central Missouri. Someone walks up to you and says they're visiting from out of state for the next few days and would love to get to experience what our communities have to offer. They are looking for unique food and drink and want to get a feel for our history, rural culture, and natural areas. They want to experience our way of life.
