Greetings awesome people of La Sal!!
Did you know that we have an awesome Community Center that is available for your use? It isn't only for school use (though due to its location near the school, there are some rules regarding certain beverages), and it isn't only for the use of a select few people that seem to always be "in the know".
The La Sal Community Center is a community resource that can be used for fun things like birthday parties, weddings, dinners, dances, family reunions, etc. If you need a large space for an event, or you need an indoor location for those winter birthday parties, the La Sal Community Center is a great location.
The best part? Low rental fees! In the past (more than a few years ago), each family in La Sal would pay $25 dollars a year for the ability to use the Center whenever they wanted (as long as someone else hadn't already reserved it). Times have changed a bit, and the challenge of collecting the fee from each family became more costly than the amount collected, and insurance, utility and maintenance costs have gone up.
Currently, the fee schedule is as follows:
Annual Family Membership $50
Day Use $10/event
Commercial gathering Case by Case
We would like to offer the option of a yearly fee per family if people are interested. We propose a yearly fee of $50 per family. Those who pay a yearly fee would still need to reserve the building, or check the schedule for any events before using the building.
PLEASE, please, please!! If you use the community center for ANY event, you must:
1. Turn the heat down
2. Clean up after yourself. DON'T leave dirty dishes, floors, bathrooms. There is no janitorial staff. Please don't use any chemicals on the sports floor.
3. Remove all trash, taking it with you (DON'T use the school trailer).
Failure to do any of these can affect your ability to use the building in the future.
Fees can be paid to Kristl Johnson, Mariah Robertson or Geddy Desmond. Building reservations are being handled by Kristl Johnson. You can call or text her at 435-260-0861, by using messenger, or via email at [email protected]. We are working on putting together a Google calendar, too.
Finally, if you have a key to the building, please reach out to Kristl and let her know. We don't want to collect them (yet), but have noticed that people are using the building without reserving it, and leaving messes or sweltering temperatures behind them. We would like to know who has keys so that we can continue to be good stewards of our building.
Please feel free to reach out to Mariah, Geddy or myself (Kristl) with any questions.
Thanks!
