📚🎒 School is Back in Session! 🚌🚸

As students head back to school, the LaSalle Police Department reminds everyone to slow down and stay alert.

Please remember:
🛑 Obey all school zone speed limits.
🚸 Watch for children crossing streets, especially near schools and crosswalks.
🚌 Stop for school buses when their red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended.
👀 Be extra cautious at bus stops—children can be unpredictable and may cross the street unexpectedly.
📵 Put away distractions and stay focused on the road.

A few extra seconds of caution can make all the difference in keeping our students, families, and school staff safe.

Let's work together to make this a safe and successful school year for everyone!

What an incredible night!

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make LaSalle’s first annual National Night Out such a tremendous success. Seeing our community come together to laugh, connect, and enjoy an evening with family, friends, and first responders was exactly what this event was all about.

A huge thank you to the LaSalle Fire Department, our community partners, volunteers, donors, and everyone who gave their time, resources, and support to make this event possible. We also want to thank all of the firefighters and staff who worked behind the scenes to bring this event to life.

NO PARKING ON PARADE ROUTE

The annual LaSalle Day Celebration is quickly approaching. This year’s parade will take place on July 18, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The parade route will remain unchanged from previous years. The parade will travel west on Union Avenue from Elm Street to Main Street, then north on Main Street to Todd Avenue. NO PARKING signs will be placed along the route, and parking will be prohibited from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the day of the parade.
The parade lineup will begin at the intersection of Elm Street and Union Avenue and continue south to Taylor Avenue, then west on Taylor Avenue toward Main Street. NO PARKING signs will also be placed along the lineup route, and parking will be prohibited from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the day of the parade.
If you live or own a business on the parade route or lineup route, we ask for your cooperation by not parking any vehicles on the street after 8:00 a.m. on the morning of July 18th. The parade is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. and is expected to conclude by 11:00 a.m.
Any vehicles parked on the parade route or within the temporary no-parking zone will be towed at the owner’s expense, and the owner may be issued a summons for violating the temporary parking restrictions.

***UPDATE FROM ATMOS @ 4:08PM 7/7/26***
It is now safe for residents to return to their homes. The leak has been fixed.

***ROAD CLOSURE***
Please stay way from the area of the 300 Block of N 4th Street. Atmos and LaSalle Fire Protection District crews are on scene tending to a large gas leak. Residents in the immediate area are asked to stay away until made safe.
Atmos crews have begun work to update and maintenance lines in the town for the next couple of weeks. This leak occurred as part of that work. Its expected that the repair could last a few hours. Please contact Atmos at 866-322-8667 with any other questions.
