This week at the LaSalle Public Library (8/30-9/5)

Monday, August 31st: International Board Game Club at 4pm. Dungeons and Dragons: Slayer's Call starts at 6pm.
Tuesday, September 1st: Nothing.
Wednesday, September 2nd: Free Blood Pressure and Glucose Testing from 10-11am. Creative Writing Club meets at 5pm.
Thursday, September 3rd: Storytime at 10:30am. Nancy's NeedleNut Stitchers meet at Noon.
Friday, September 4th: Nothing.
Saturday, September 5th: Nothing.

All programs take place in our downstairs meeting room, unless specified otherwise. All programs are free and open to the public. Some programs have specific age ranges or require registration. Check our website or individual Facebook posts for more information on specific programs.

Today, the name Hershey is synonymous with quality milk chocolate. But that wasn't always the case. Milton S. Hershey worked hard and failed often before his chocolate company was finally successful. And when he did become a household name and had earned a vast fortune, Milton and his wife Catherine decided to give it all away. Because of their generosity, tens of thousands of orphans have been saved, protected, and educated. Attend this illustrated lecture presented by Historic Voices to hear the "behind the scenes" story of this beloved American company. Miss Keyes will be delighting audiences with her presentation on September 24th at 6pm.

On September 10th, at 6pm, Illinois travel guru and author Melanie Holmes will cover road trips that highlight Illinois history as it relates to the nation's 250th birthday. She'll take you back to 1776 to see what Illinois looked like, and suggest trips that highlight the people and events that forged what we see today!

The Crazy Cartoon Film Series will conclude tomorrow, August 27th, at 6pm with "The Sci-Fi One," from 2024. Come enjoy this FREE film screening with us before these characters return in their new film, releasing this weekend.

This screening will begin with a brief presentation at 6pm.
There will be a raffle held at the conclusion of this final screening. The more screenings you attend, the more entries you'll have! All screenings are free and open to the public.
