La Vergne Parks & Rec The Parks and Recreation Department offers numerous programs and activities and provides safe, well-organized facilities for residents to use and enjoy.

With a highly trained and talented staff, the city offers plenty of free events throughout the year including egg hunts, trick-or-treating, parades, festivals, and more. The city has six parks, including picnic facilities, playgrounds, and pavilions depending on the park. At Bicentennial Park there is a rentable Multipurpose Building near the baseball fields. The City of La Vergne invites and enco

urages people to discuss issues affecting the City on its social media sites, which serve as limited public forums. However, the City of La Vergne will not allow posts to remain that include:
- Comments not topically related to the post;
- Comments in support of or in opposition to political campaigns or ballot measures;
- Profane language or content;

Don’t just watch the parade—BE PART OF IT!

Registration is open for the La Vergne Fall Festival Parade on Saturday, September 12! Businesses, schools, churches, organizations, clubs, community groups, and families are invited to join the fun.

Parade begins at 10:00 a.m.
Starts at La Vergne City Hall
Ends at Veterans Memorial Park

Led by Grand Marshal Dagwood, local radio personality and La Vergne native!

After the parade, stick around for food vendors, pony rides, a petting zoo, an animal show, vendors, activities, and more.

TONIGHT IS RACE NIGHT! HOWL AT THE MOON 5K

The Howl at the Moon 5K is TONIGHT, Friday, August 21 at 8:00 p.m.! As runners take to the streets, please plan your route accordingly and be aware of road closures along Murfreesboro Road.

ROAD CLOSURES BEGIN AT 7:15 P.M.

• The westbound lanes of Murfreesboro Road will be closed beginning around 7:15 p.m.
• Westbound traffic will be diverted into one of the eastbound lanes of Murfreesboro Road.
• No traffic will be allowed to cross Murfreesboro Road from Floyd Mayfield Drive to Bicentennial Park during the race.
• Roadblocks will be in place along the race route.
• La Vergne Street Department staff and La Vergne Police officers will be stationed along the race path to assist with traffic and closures.

Please allow extra travel time, follow directions from city personnel, and use alternate routes when possible.

Please plan your route accordingly!

The annual Howl at the Moon 5K will take place next Friday, August 21 at 8:00 p.m., and road closures will be in place along Murfreesboro Road to help keep runners safe.
