Today, we celebrate more than the retirement of a Captain Dave Bonanno. We celebrate 36 years of dedicated service to the City of La Verne.
His story began right here in La Verne. A graduate of Bonita High School, he grew up in the community he would eventually dedicate his career to protecting. He began his journey with the La Verne Fire Department as a Reserve Firefighter, and through years of hard work, commitment, and dedication, rose through the ranks to Firefighter Paramedic and ultimately Captain Paramedic.
Throughout his career, he gave far more than his time on the fireground. He served as President of the La Verne Firefighters Association, was a member of the Ambulance Operator Committee, and dedicated countless hours as a CPR Instructor, helping prepare both his fellow firefighters and members of the community to save lives.
For 36 years, he answered the call to serve the city he grew up in. He mentored firefighters, cared for patients, and represented the La Verne Fire Department with pride and professionalism.
36 years. One community. A lifetime of service.
Congratulations, Captain, on an incredible career and a well-deserved retirement. The La Verne Fire Department and the City of La Verne are better because of your service.
