During the course of their deployment they assisted with Pre-landfall evacuations of communities in east Texas, and after landfall assisted with bringing people back to their communities after they had been evacuated.

City of La Vernia National Night Out 2020

The City of LaVernia regrets to announce that, out of an abundance of caution, the National Night Out (NNO) event, at the city park, scheduled for the 6th October 2020, has been cancelled. In response to the increase of COVID-19 cases, and recommendations from the Department of Health, Centers for Disease Control, the NNO planners felt it was in the best interest of our residents to cancel. Residents are still encouraged to turn on their porch lights and celebrate NNO from home.

We look forward to an excellent event next year so mark your calendars for October 5, 2021.
