Just 24 days until the Desert Southwest Monsoon Season begins! All indications continue to point toward a quick start and stronger than normal monsoon season and a hyperactive EPAC season as we transition to El Niño. This transition, paired with anonymously warm sea-surface temperatures off the coast of southern California and western Mexico will be the primary driver for the expected hyperactive monsoon season. The seasonal models support this idea and the Climate Prediction Center's new precipitation outlook during this timeframe also shows above normal precipitation for the Southwest⛈️🌧️🌦️🌀
