We are hosting a public discussion session regarding a proposed zone change to the northside of Blocks 76-80 and Parcels A-E. Whether you live nearby, own a business, or just care about the growth and character of our community, we want to hear from you.

📢 Serve Your Community: Call for Letters of Interest! 📢

The Town Board of Trustees for the Town of La Veta is currently accepting letters of interest to fill one (1) vacant Trustee position. This is a wonderful opportunity to get involved and help shape the future of our town. The successful candidate will serve out the remainder of the term through April 2028.

Are you eligible?
To serve on the Town Board, you must meet the following criteria:

✅ Be at least 18 years of age.

✅ Be a United States Citizen.

✅ Be a registered voter in the Town of La Veta.

✅ Have resided within the Corporate Town Limits of La Veta for at least 12 months.

How to Apply
If you are interested in serving, please submit a letter of interest that includes the reasons why you wish to serve on the Town Board.

Submission Deadline: May 22, 2026, by 4:30 p.m.

You may submit your letter via one of the following methods:

Mail: P.O. Box 174, La Veta, CO 81055

In-Person: Drop off at Town Hall, 209 S. Main Street

📦 Recycling Update: Cardboard Bins are Full 📦
Attention residents,

Please be advised that the cardboard recycling bins are currently at capacity. We kindly ask that you hold onto your cardboard at home for the time being rather than leaving it outside the bins.

The bins are scheduled to be emptied next week.

Thank you for your patience and for helping us keep our recycling area clean and manageable!
