Check out these awesome bookmarks made by kids at NOVA Middle School for the South Sound Reading Foundation! NOVA students Chase, Akira, and Scarlet decided to spend their service time creating these beautiful hand-made page-keepers for us to give away with our free books! We will be taking these beauties to the food bank with us this week and the kiddos in our community will love to receive them! Thank you students! 📚🥰📚

REGISTRATION IS NOT REQUIRED! Just show up, grab a lunch and a book, and enjoy a story time or activity. Lunch is served until 11:20am, free books/activities until noon.

📚✨ Who says summer reading challenges are just for kids? ✨📚

This summer, the South Sound Reading Foundation is challenging the grownups to get in on the fun! We’ve put together a Summer Reading Adventure for adults designed to help you rediscover the joy of reading, explore our local community, and try something new.

🌊 Final Challenge: Learn about our Books by the Bay featured author, Olufunke Grace Bankole, and read her incredible book, The Edge of Water!

The Best Part? The Prize! 🎟️✨
When you complete and turn in your checklist, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win TWO FREE TICKETS to our annual Books by the Bay event this September!

Summer is gearing up to be a busy one! Catch us June 27th from Noon to 3pm sharing books at the Olympia Downtown Alliance Creatures of the Pacific Northwest chalk art celebration. We'll have free books for kids and teens. Come grab a book to inspire some cool chalk art and stick around for the downtown block party.

Are you switching grades or schools? Come browse our Teacher Resources (plus picture and chapter books) to build your classroom library and prepare resources for the upcoming year. As always, books and resources are free, so take advantage of stoking up before next school year.

South Sound Reading Foundation has partnered with the Thurston County Food Bank as a free meal site. Each afternoon, youth 0-18 years old can come to our office for a free lunch provide by the food bank and free books (provided by us of course 😊)
