Spending my weekend admiring the gorgeous craftsmanship at the Olympia Wooden Boat Festival at Percival Landing! ⛵✨ The sun is out, the docks are full of stunning vessels, and the vibes are perfect. ⚓️🌻
Come down to downtown Olympia to enjoy live music, local vendors, and amazing food! A perfect Mother’s Day weekend activity. ☀️☕️

April is the Month of the Military Child—a time to recognize and honor the resilience, strength, and sacrifices of the children who support our service members.

These young heroes are a vital part of the military community, showing courage, adaptability, and strength as they grow up alongside service and sacrifice. Their contributions often go unseen, but their impact is deeply felt across our communities.

This month, and every month, we proudly salute military children and thank them for the important role they play in supporting their families and strengthening our communities. 💜

You may have wondered… “What happened to Change the Narrative?”
Short answer: we got busy.
And now we’re proud to reveal why.

Introducing: PROJECT MINDSET.
Our new name reflects the heart of our work—supporting a focused, positive mindset for every veteran, active military member, first responder, and their families.

Over the past few months, we’ve been building, partnering, and serving behind the scenes:

Operation Surprise!
Director Spike Klein teamed up with Home Depot to help a Yelm veteran struggling to maintain his home. After four full days of volunteer support, he was gifted with [insert highlight], bringing relief and stability where it was needed most.

Thurston County Coroner’s Office
Spike continues his weekly check-ins with his “morgue family,” and Project Mindset member Mike is rolling out a custom mental-health program tailored specifically for their team.
We don’t force people into pre-made programs — we build world-class resources designed around your individual needs.

Family Day at Oly Outboard Club
We brought veterans, first responders, and their families together for a full day on the water. Great food, sunshine, boat rides, paddle boards, kayaks, family activities, and a whole lot of community building.

Katie’s Way Partnership
Katie’s story is tragic, but her mission lives on. We’re honored to partner with Katie’s Way to help bring innovative mental-health treatment to communities nationwide. Please visit their page and support this meaningful work.

Weekly Fellowship
We never stopped.
Join us every 1st & 3rd Wednesday at 1800 hrs at the Lacey Senior Services Center (6757 Pacific Ave SE, Lacey, WA). Everyone is welcome.

Music for a Cause?
As we rebranded and built new partnerships, we had to pause a few things — including music events. But trust us… they’ll be back.
