You might have heard words like HCBS, Olmstead, community living, waivers, and so much more. Those words mean a lot of things, and are different in each state. But here’s the word you need to know: home health care.

What does home health care look like?
- Helping someone eat, bathe, take medicine
- Driving someone to their doctor appointments

Tell us in the comments: What does home health care look like for you?

Kokua will be there Friday evening for a fun and crafty activity!

🤩🍦🚒

Come out and learn about Project SAFER, which is a very cool program that began in Clallum County, to help educate and bridge the gap between first responders and those with disabilities. They are actively trying to launch a similar program here (in Thurston County) and it could do a lot to help provide everyone with more education and communication, and families and providers with more peace of mind. Come meet local First Responders, get some Ice Cream, and have some fun!

DSPs deserve to be recognized as the working professionals that they are! Without Direct Support (Professionals), people with disabilities cannot live meaningful lives in their communities! DSPs deserve a Standard Occupational Code and the elevation and recognition that comes along with it, leading to a greater focus on the need to provide adequate funding and wages! Read this and share it and help draw attention to this need! National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals - NADSP

ACTION ALERT: Contact your 2 U.S. Senators before Aug 5! Tell them why DSPs deserve recognition as an essential profession. Ask them to support & advance S. 3211 today.
