The 37th Training Wing was proud to welcome Maj. Gen. César Macedo Garcia of the Peruvian Air Force and Chairman of the Inter-American Defense Board for our Security Cooperation Dinner. A decorated pilot with over 4,800 flight hours, Macedo exemplifies the lethal, mission-focused warrior identity we strive to develop every day. 🤝

His message was clear, "Hemispheric cooperation is executed in the cockpit, in the hangar, in the classroom, on patrol, and at the shared tables of IAAFA. The defense of the hemisphere is built together, or it is not built at all." From our Commandant to every student and instructor, we know that our joint interoperability is one of our greatest assets. 🗺️

IAAFA is honored to continue our 83-year legacy of fostering unity, professionalism, and tactical excellence to ensure a mission-ready force across the Americas. Warrior First, Mission Always.

Excellence translates into any language! 🌎✈️

This month, IAAFA was proud to host civic leaders from Fairchild AFB as part of their immersive 37th Training Wing tour. What an incredible opportunity to show our community partners how we and on an international scale.

We gave them a firsthand look at how IAAFA builds strong alliances across the Americas by providing world-class, modernized military education and technical training to our partner nations. Thank you to the Fairchild civic leaders for visiting and for your dedication to supporting the broader Air Force mission! 🤝🇺🇸

🇺🇸 A full-circle moment, powered by partnership.

Nearly two decades after her father served as a partner nation instructor at the Inter-American Air Forces Academy, Airman Bryanna Garcia stood on the parade field at Joint Base San Antonio and swore to defend the very nation she was born in.

From growing up in Colombia to overcoming challenges along the way, Garcia never lost sight of her goal: to earn the title of Airman. 🌟

Her journey is more than a personal achievement. It’s a testament to the enduring impact of security cooperation, building bonds that extend beyond missions, across generations, and between nations.

At the 37th Training Wing, those connections help shape the future force.

Promoting professionalism, reinforcing partnership + interoperability 🫱🏽‍🫲🏿

IAAFA’s Professional Military Education team conducted a Subject Matter Expert Exchange with the Guatemalan Military Education Command in Guatemala recently. Partner Nation Instructor Capt. Jose Mendez joined the team to assess and analyze Guatemalan military doctrine and COSEDE’s doctrinal review and implementation processes. 📝

The engagement helped identify best practices + strengths and areas for modernization, and provided expert insights to enhance organizational effectiveness and support future development. 💻 🔗 💯

Recientemente, el equipo de Educación Militar Profesional de IAAFA realizó un intercambio de expertos con el Comando de Educación Militar de Guatemala. Durante la visita, el instructor internacional el Capitán José Méndez, se unió al equipo para revisar y analizar la doctrina militar guatemalteca y los procesos de COSEDE. 🏫

Este espacio de diálogo permitió compartir buenas prácticas, reconocer fortalezas y explorar oportunidades de modernización, aportando ideas clave para fortalecer la efectividad organizacional y apoyar el crecimiento y desarrollo a futuro. 💥

Bidding farewell and continued success 🫡

💫 After more than two years at IAAFA, Maj. Antonio Lugo departs after serving as a Partner Nation Instructor and leading the International Squadron Officer Course. As a leadership instructor with the 837th Training Squadron, he delivered instruction to officers and NCOs across the Western Hemisphere.

His time here was marked by excellence, earning multiple Instructor of the Quarter and Year awards, along with the distinction of Master Instructor - and the only PME instructor at IAAFA to earn this distinction.

We wish Maj. Lugo the very best of luck in his next assignment and thank him for his lasting impact on international partnerships. 🫱🏽‍🫲🏿

🌟 Después de más de dos años en IAAFA, Mayor Antonio Lugo se despide tras servir como Instructor de Paises Aliados y liderar Capacitación Profesional en Liderazgo para Oficiales Subalternos. Como instructor en el Escuadrón de Adiestramiento 837, Mayor Lugo impartió instrucción a oficiales y suboficiales de América del Norte, Centro y Sudamérica.

Su tiempo aquí estuvo marcado por la excelencia, obteniendo múltiples reconocimientos como Instructor del Trimestre y del Año, además de la distinción de Master Instructor - siendo el único instructor de Educación Militar Profesional de la IAAFA en obtener esta calificación. 🙌🏽

Congratulations to Chief Master Sgt. Desireé de Toledo Broca Moura Figueria! 👏🏽 🎉

Our partner nation instructor recently earned the highest enlisted rank in the Brazilian Air Force!
Figueria was also recently named PNI of the cycle. The 37 TRW Command Chief and group chiefs were on hand to celebrate the accomplishment.

Nuestra instructora de paises aliados recientemente alcanzó el grado más alto del personal alistado en las Fuerza Aérea Brasileña. Figueria también fue nombrada PNI del ciclo. Líderes de la Ala de Entrenamiento 37 estuvieron presentes para celebrar el logro. 💯

Our own IAAFA commandant Col. Bryan Tuinman served as reviewing official for basic military training graduation ceremony today for approximately 600 of our newest Airmen. After the ceremony, Tuinman and acting Senior Enlisted Leader, Master Sgt. Johann Gonzalez met with the new Airmen + recognized some outstanding members. 🙌🏽💯

“The entire Air Force family stands with you, confident that together, we can - and we will - overcome any obstacle.” 💥

Col. Bryan Tuinman, comandante de IAAFA, fungió hoy como autoridad de revisión en la ceremonia de graduación del entrenamiento militar básico para aproximadamente 600 de nuestros nuevos técnicos. Después de la ceremonia, Col. Tuinman y el Líder Enlistado Superior, Sargento Primero Johann Gonzalez, se reunieron con los nuevos técnicos y reconocieron a algunos miembros destacados. 👊
